When we decided to keep the sex of the baby a surprise until birth, we started envisioning a gender neutral / rustic midcentury modern nursery! We also turned my office room into a guest bedroom / mini nursery for the main floor with essentials for the day (glider for feedings, changing table & bassinet for daytime naps)
We started shopping for the nursery towards the end of my first trimester and our vision slowly came to life with the help of Havenly interior designer. We are so happy with how it turned out and can’t wait to experience all the moments of parenthood that will take place in this space.

Here is our nursery reveal on YouTube where we share our thought process & faves + prepping for the baby blog!

Here’s a breakdown of each nursery category:
Sleeping
We chose to have a queen bed in the nursery to make the first few months of nursing / sleeping more convenient. We ordered the cloud crib for the baby – a mini-crib, full crib and toddler bed all in one. We also ordered a smart bassinet for the first few months which features 5 unique motions and 5 speeds. The cozy bassinet is also soothing with one with a firm, flat surface and 4 built-in white noise options that can all be adjusted with the app.

Feeding / Changing
We chose a recliner glider since that was recommended by most nursing moms. I absolutely love how comfortable, convenient (glide and recline) and aesthetic (not bulky) the Grano glider recliner (Dune / Pillow / Gold Swivel) is. It was also highly recommended to have a moveable trolley to put essentials (water, snacks, pump, nipple cream/pads, burp cloths, clothes, diaper essentials, etc.) and make it easy for feedings and changes. We chose the changing pad after lots of research on what to order – we found this one to be the best based on the convenience and style. The foam changing pad conveniently wipes clean, does not absorb liquids or smells, is lightweight, the material is PVC- and Phthalate-free, has a non-skid surface and includes a toy bar for changing entertainment.

Cultural Bookshelf Finds
Being Indian is a huge part of our identity and our culture is something we both look forward to passing down to our baby. I am so grateful for all of the small businesses and authors that make it easy for new parents like me to pass on our culture through books and plushed toys!
